More than 35 thousands households switched to solar energy

“In 2014, only 20 households had solar panels. In 2017, there were 3,000 SPP. Today - more than 35 thousand. Market is evolving exponentially. This is an example of how households can invest in their future and save on payments", said Acting Head of the State Agency for Energy Efficiency Konstantin Gura, about the benefits of using renewable energy sources in the household.

He also noticed that small SPP is also an example of dispersed generation, which has a positive effect on the modes of operation of the power system. An average of 10-15 kW of power is enough for a standard house's and their own needs. In this case, more energy storage systems are needed. Depending on the capacity of the station and the amount of electricity consumption by the household, SPP pays off for itself in an average of 5-7 years.

In total, as for July 1, 2021, there are more than 35,000 households in Ukraine, thst are the first prosumers in the country  that produce and consume energy.
