In the village of Chorny Rig (Chernihiv region) the construction of a biogas plant with a capacity of 3 MW has begun. The project is implemented by Calypso Biogas LLC, which grows corn on land leased from the Semenivka community.
The construction work is performed by an Austrian-German company. More than 200 million hryvnias are being invested in the construction of the biogas plant. The facility is planned to be launched in early 2022 and will employ 20 locals.
The generated electricity will be sold on the energy market.
