Suhorabivska HPP with storage reservoir on the Psel River in Reshetylivskyi district was built in 1957 and reconstructed in 2000. The total capacity is 330 kW, reservoir area is 73 hectares, volume is 1,2 million cubic meters and pressure is 4 m.

Brief project description:

Kuntsivska HPP with a channel reservoir on the Vorskla River in Novosanzharsk raion was put into operation in 1953 and reconstructed in 2007. The installed capacity of the HPP is 400 kW. The area of the channel reservoir is 101 hectares; the volume of the reservoir at normal headwater level (NHL) is 1.7 million cubic meters.

Brief project description:

The HPP with a capacity of 800 kW was put into operation in Sniatyn (Ivano-Frantsivsk oblast) in 2005. The HPP will allow receiving 4 million kW•h of electricity annually. The volume of investment is 2.7 million.

Brief project description:

Kasperivska HPP is the most powerful hydroelectric plant in Ternopil oblast. The HPP is located on the Seret River near Kasperivtsi village, Zalishchyky raion.

The HPP has been operating since 25 December 1963 and since then it has produced more than 600 million kW•h of electricity. The HPP provides electricity to Kasperivtsi and Zalishchyky.

The essence of the project:

Construction of a hydroelectric power station (HPP) for the purpose of electricity production. The sale of the produced volumes of electricity is carried out in the Wholesale Electricity Market at the "green" tariff.


Brief description of the project:

The hydroelectric power station is located in the village of Zolota Lipa (Tlumach district, Ivano-Frankivsk oblast) on the river Golden Lipa. At the hydroelectric power station, two vertical turbines are installed. The station is in automatic mode. The control system provides the automatic start, stop and emergency shutdown of the HPP.

Basic technical characteristics of the hydroelectric power plant:

Pressure H = 3 m

Water discharge Q = 4-8 m3 / s

Generator: asynchronous AG, P = 200 kW, U = 0.4 kV, n = 1000 rpm.

Brief project description:

The small HPP on the Krasna River is located in Krasna village, Tiachiv raion, Zakarpattia oblast. The facility was put into operation in two stages: a capacity of 800 kW in January 2011 and a capacity of 360 kW in July 2013, respectively. Thus, the total installed capacity is 1160 kW.

The facility has the following main features:

  • derivation length - 1850 m
  • pipeline diameter - 1.2 m
  • gross pressure - 52 m
  • maximum flow rate - 2.8 m³/s
  • type of turbine - Francis (LLC “Mini-Hydro”, Kharkiv)

Brief project description:

HPP Uzhhorodska was built in 1942 (the city of Uzhhorod, Zakarpattia oblast). The installed capacity of the facility is 1.9 MW.

The station is located 10 km below the main structure of the joint derivational channel with Onokivska HPP. The facility includes a building of the HPP, emergency spillway and flood spillway. The underwater part of the building is concrete; the ground part consists of ceramic bricks. The production area is 960 square meters. The flood spillway is a concrete gravity dam of 25 m in length, with water overflow through the crest. A 5 m wide emergency spillway offset by a flat gate is located between the flood spillway and the HPP building.

Brief project description:

Onokivska HPP is located in Onokivtsi village of Uzhhorod raion, Zakarpattia oblast. The facility was built in 1942. The installed capacity is 2.65 MW.

The facility includes a building of the HPP, concrete flood spillway and emergency spillway. Mini-HPP is located 4.3 km far from the main diversion structure of the derivational channel. The underwater part of the building is concrete; the ground part consists of ceramic bricks. The production area is 650 square meters. The flood spillway is a concrete gravity dam of 25 m in length, with water overflow through the crest. A 5 m wide emergency spillway offset by a flat gate is located between the flood spillway and the HPP building.

The purpose of the project: Production and supply of heat and hot water for budgetary institutions (4 regional hospitals)

Brief project description: In December 2015 a solid fuel boiler-house with a capacity of 10.5 MW (Dnipro, 17B, Kosmichna st.) was put into operation on the basis of seven solid fuel boilers TM 1500 Ardenz.

Investor of the project is the company APS Power Technology(Austria). Pellets are used in boiler-house as fuel.

Total investment in the project amounted to 47.3 million UAH.

Working regime: year-round.

Renovation of the boiler-house will enable to replace 2 million m3 of natural gas annually. At the same time, due to the boiler-house putting into operation construction of new sections of heat networks (80%) took place.

The purpose of the project:

The energy efficiency project in the production of heat energy from alternative fuels (straw). The purpose of the project is to replace natural gas.

Brief description of the project:

On 27 October 2015 a combined boiler plant operating on straw (in regular period) and natural gas (during peak loads) was opened in the city of Myrhorod (Poltava oblast) in the framework of the USAID Project “Local Alternative Energy Sources: Myrhorod”.

The boiler room provides heat to the whole residential neighborhood of the city:

  • 10 multi-apartment buildings
  • a school
  • a kindergarten

In this boiler-house, five outdated NIISTU gas boilers have been replaced by three modern ones (Kolvi Eurotherm) with a total heat output of 3 MW.

Straw bales are used as fuel for boilers.

Due to the measures were taken, the saving of natural gas at this boiler-house is about 600 thousand m3 / year. Annual cost saving is about 2 million UAH. The solid fuel boiler is equipped with high-tech wastewater treatment facilities, so the boiler-house fully meets the ecological requirements.

Project period: 2013-2015

Project financing: USAID Project “Local Alternative Energy Sources: Myrhorod” was implemented on a co-financing basis. The purchase of a solid fuel boiler and additional equipment, purchase of a forklift, a trailer with a tractor, development of design documentation and partly construction and assembly works at the central warehouse were carried out from the USAID funds ($ 1 million). The contribution of Poltava Oblast State Administration is estimated at almost 500 thousand UAH.

Brief project description:

The first phase of SPP “Tokmak Solar Energy” (with a capacity of 1.5 MW) was launched in October 2012, the second phase (with a capacity of 2.5 MW) – in February 2013. The total capacity of the plant is 10 MW.

To accommodate the complex on the territory of the Novenska village council of Tokmak rayon nearly 33 hectares of the land area was provided.

SPP “Lazurne was built in 2012 near Lazurne town, Skadovsk district, Kherson region. SPP occupies a land area of 20 hectares on Lake Ustrychne in the salt marshes, unsuitable for agricultural use.

SPP installed capacity is 10 MW. The volume of electricity generated may amount to 11 million KWh.

Brief project description:

In June 2013 a solar power plant with installed capacity of 4.2 MW was built and put into operation in Teplodar, Odessa oblast.

The funding for the project has provided by the EBRD in the amount of 3.9 million EUR and by Clean Technology Fund (CTF) in the amount of 1.5 million EUR for the project of construction and maintenance of the solar power plant with a capacity of 4.2 MW.

The cost of the SPP project is 38 million. Investors were individuals - citizens of Ukraine. The payback period for the project is 6-7 years. Annually the SPP will produce about 3 million kWh of electricity, which will be sold in the united energy system of Ukraine. The construction of the SPP began in October 2012 and completed on 1st April 2013. The basis of the SPP consists of more than 12 thousand photovoltaic modules of Czech production. They cover an area of approximately 6 hectares. LLC “Solar Power Plant “Bohorodchanske-1” belongs to the group of companies LLC “Eco Optima”.

The construction of SPP Sambirska began in 2012 in Ralivka village, Sambir raion, Lviv oblast. It includes three stages of construction. The SPP covers a land area of over 20 hectares.

After the second stage of construction started in 2013, the installed capacity of the facility was more than 3 MW. In 2015 the amount of electricity generated by the SPP amounted to 4.5 million kW ∙ h.

In early 2016 the third stage of the SPP construction was reported to be completed with an installed capacity of 10 MW.

The installed capacity of the facility is 5.4 MW that enables to generate approximately 6.3 million kW•h per year.

The installed capacity is 9.9 MW, which enables to generate approximately 9.3 million kWh per year.

Realized investment project for the construction of a wind power plant with an installed capacity of 20.7 MW in the city of Stary Sambir, Starosambirsky district, Lviv region.

The purpose of the project is to sell the produced volumes of electricity at the "green" tariff.

The station was put into operation in 2017. Equipment: 6 turbines V-112 Danish company Vestas Wind Systems. Annual electricity production is 56 million kWh. The investment amounted to 34 million euros.

Short project description:

Botiyev wind power plant with installed capacities of 200 MW is the biggest in Ukraine and is situated near Primorskiy Posad village in Pryazovsk district of Zaporizhzhia region.

Construction was completed in two stages: December 2012 – 30 units, April 2014 – additional 35 units. Annual generation of electricity is up to 700 million kW per hour.

At the moment of putting into operation, Botiyev wind power plant was included to the five largest wind power plants in Central and Eastern Europe.
